Capacity building training on durable solutions for practitioners working in the Middle East.

To meet the urgent need to enhance knowledge and capabilities in the field of durable solutions in the Middle East region, Durable Solutions Platform (DSP) and Voices for Displaced Syrians forum (VDSF), in cooperation with JIPS – Joint Internal Displacement Profiling Service, organized a capacity building training on sustainable solutions for practitioners working in the Middle East. The training targeted humanitarian workers in the areas of programs, policies, and advocacy in local and international organizations at the regional and country levels.

The main points covered by the training were:

• Theoretical, legal, and operational foundations for developing sustainable solutions.
• Key durable solutions actors and coordination bodies in the Middle East with a focus on Syria and neighboring countries.
• How to apply the durable solutions perspective and strategy to research, advocacy, and programs.
• Focus into the main durable solutions topics of particular interest in the Middle East region.
